Stony Brook University's Wang Center hosted a taiko workshop with Tetsuro, Kaoru and Shoji during the day on October 17th and then presented an evening Khoomei-Taiko Ensemble concert which was sold-out. KTE's Stony Brook concert was warmly received by music loving Long Islanders and the artists were greeted with a standing ovation after the show's finale.

The October 16th, 2009 Khoomei-Taiko Ensemble concert at Symphony Space in New York was warmly received by an enthusiastic audience. There was great appreciation shown for the individual performers’s solo pieces, the duets and the collective ensemble’s performances. The evening finale was greeted with great applause and a standing ovation.
